Presidential Son Sandro Marcos Speaks on VP Sara Duterte’s Remarks Vs. Marcoses
SANDRO MARCOS – The Ilocos Norte Representative expressed his hope that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is okay and she finds peace of mind.
The recent statements of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos have shocked a lot of people. The relationship between the former running mates in the 2022 Elections has turned sour.
The public started to notice the Duterte-Marcos relationship going downhill when Vice Pres. Duterte resigned from being the secretary of DepEd (Department of Education). The Vice President also totally left the Marcos cabinet.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos expressed understanding of the decision of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. However, he did not understand why Duterte apologized to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) members for seeking their support for him in the 2022 Elections.
Duterte’s apology to the KOJC members came amid the intensified search against Pastor Quiboloy happening under the Marcos administration. She also claimed that it was a mistake and she was on a “mistaken belief” of the platform of unity and continuity.
In an inteview, Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that she and the President did not really start as friends. According to her, her friend really is Sen. Imee Marcos. However, Duterte recently claimed that she told Sen. Marcos she will throw the remains of Marcos Sr. into the West Philippine Sea if the alleged attacks against her continue.
Duterte also claimed that Marcos Jr. does not know how to be a president and that she has not heard him having a platform or discussing what he will do to address a problem of the country. Recently, she also revealed that she has ill thoughts against the President.
Malacañang and Pres. Marcos have not reacted to the statements of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte but presidential son and Ilocos Norte Representative Sandro Marcos could not hold it anymore. Based on a report on GMA News, the son of the President expressed his disdain on the statements of Duterte.
‘Forget that the objects of her derisions are dear to me, but I would also be remiss in my responsibility as an Ilocano representative if I didn’t voice out my disdain at the abhorrent comments she so carelessly uttered. I can ascertain that my emotions are shared not only by my kakailian in the north but across the country,” Marcos said.
Sandro Marcos stressed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has “crossed the line”. According to him, he remained mum out of respect for her and following his father’s advise not to make a comment but she has allegedly crossed the line “leaving the civic and civil space in which disagreements can be rationally argued”.
Meanwhile, based on the report, the younger Marcos said that he sincerely hopes that the Vice President is okay. According to him, it is an opportune time for a reminder not to take the mental health for granted. The Presidential son stressed that he still wishes the Vice President’s success which will be the success of the nation as a whole.
“May she find the peace of mind and mental clarity that seems to be eluding her,” Marcos said.
