Xyriel Manabat Responds to Comment Claiming ‘Andrea Brillantes is Much Hotter’
XYRIEL MANABAT – The actress responded to a comment comparing her to fellow young actress Andrea Brillantes on Instagram.
A netizen remarked that Brillantes is “much hotter,” to which Manabat replied, “agree 100%,” showcasing her stylish demeanor. The two have appeared in the mystery series “Senior High” and its sequel, “High Street.”
Manabat also addressed a separate comment that accused her of undergoing cosmetic enhancements, with the netizen taunting her by saying, “Pangit na pangit sa sarili niya kaya daming pinagawa,” which translates to her seeing herself as too ugly and thus having many enhancements.
Despite facing criticism, Manabat’s recent photos and videos have garnered praise. In an Instagram Story, she expressed excitement after American singer Sabrina Carpenter reposted her TikTok video, captioning it with, “Iiyak ako iiyak ako talaga sige,” along with crying and happy emojis, demonstrating her joy.
In a previous interview, Manabat revealed that negative comments about her appearance made her doubt herself as an actress. She shared that, despite having numerous shows when she was younger, she struggled to feel the confidence and appreciation she deserved. A common remark she heard from family and co-workers was, “You are a good actress, but you are not beautiful.” This criticism contributed to her decision to take a long break from showbiz and led to depression at age 12.
However, as she matured, Manabat recognized that beauty is subjective and varies from person to person. Her journey in the industry began when she finished as the third runner-up in “Star Circle Kid Quest: Search for the Kiddie Idol” in 2009, and she has since grown into a celebrated figure, overcoming challenges and embracing her uniqueness.
