Vlogger in ‘LRT Date Challenge’ Should Be Sued, Says Public

Controversial LRT Date Challenge Raises Safety Concerns

LRT DATE CHALLENGE – An incident involving a content creator who performed a “random train date challenge” inside the LRT-2 has sparked controversy and public concern.

In a viral TikTok video by the vlogger @TrionKwentos, the challenge involved setting up a white table with glasses, a candle, and chocolates on a moving train. An accomplice, dressed as a waiter, assisted in setting up the scene. However, a security guard intervened and stopped the stunt before it could be completed, leading to widespread criticism from viewers.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) condemned the vlogger’s actions, stating that they violated LRTA regulations and were carried out without proper permission. LRTA Administrator Hernando Cabrera highlighted the safety risks associated with such activities. He explained that sudden stops or changes in the train’s speed could cause objects to fly around and potentially injure passengers. Eating on the train is also prohibited to maintain cleanliness.

The vlogger defended the challenge, claiming it was intended to showcase improvements in Philippine public transportation and highlight the quality of local trains. Despite this, the LRTA emphasized that passenger safety and privacy are paramount. They expressed concern that such stunts could disrupt train services and invade passengers’ privacy.

In response, the LRTA is considering various actions, including issuing a formal notice to the vlogger, calling his attention, or imposing penalties. They have also instructed security guards to prevent similar activities to mitigate safety risks and discourage others from imitating the behavior. The LRTA insists that safety and respect for passengers are their top priorities, and they reserve the right to take action against rule violators.
