Trump Safe After Second Assassination Attempt

Second Assassination Attempt on Trump Fails

DONALD TRUMP – The Republican presidential candidate was unharmed after a second assassination attempt on September 14, 2024, while he was golfing in West Palm Beach, Florida. The incident occurred when a massive fire engulfed the tenement area in Tondo, prompting a significant response from the Philippine Red Cross and the Philippine Air Force.

The FBI reported that U.S. Secret Service agents responded to a gunman spotted near the golf course. The suspect, later identified by the New York Times and Fox News as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh from Hawaii, was seen carrying an AK-47-style rifle. The agents fired at least four shots to neutralize the threat and arrested the suspect after he fled the scene.

The FBI did not confirm Routh’s identity, and other law enforcement agencies did not provide further details. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stated that the rifle was spotted about 400 to 500 yards from Trump, and the Secret Service acted appropriately by engaging the gunman.

The suspect abandoned his rifle and two backpacks before escaping in a black Nissan. A witness captured photos of the suspect’s vehicle and license plate, which helped law enforcement track him down. Routh was subsequently apprehended on I-95 by deputies from neighboring Martin County.

Trump reassured his supporters through an email, stating that despite the gunshots in his vicinity, he was “SAFE AND WELL!” This incident followed a previous assassination attempt in Pennsylvania on July 13, where Trump was grazed by a bullet, and one rallygoer was killed. The gunman, Thomas Crooks, was shot and killed by a Secret Service sniper.

The White House confirmed that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed on the incident and expressed relief that Trump was safe. Harris condemned the violence in a social media post. Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance, reported that Trump was in good spirits after the shooting.
