Sara Duterte Apologizes to KOJC Members for Endorsing PBBM
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President expressed regret for endorsing President Bongbong Marcos during an event marking the Kingdom of Jesus Christ’s (KOJC) anniversary.
In her speech, Duterte apologized to the KOJC members for asking them to support Marcos during the elections, admitting that she had been mistaken in believing they shared a common platform of unity and continuity. She acknowledged her error and sought forgiveness from the group.
“Nagkamali ako. Nagkamali ako sa paghingi ng tulong at suporta niyo para kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos. I was on the mistaken belief that we were together on the platform of unity and continuity. Nagkamali ako, kaya hinihingi ko ang patawad ninyo,” she said. “Always remember na wala man ako lagi sa mga masasayang araw ninyo pero nandito ako lagi sa inyong kalungkutan. I will always be with you in your darkness,” she added.
Duterte reassured the KOJC members that, despite not always being present during their joyful moments, she would always stand by them in difficult times. The alliance between Marcos and Duterte, which secured their victory in the last elections, has faced challenges, particularly due to differences in policy. One significant point of contention is the government’s decision to pursue KOJC founder Apollo Quiboloy, who remains in hiding.
Meanwhile, Sara Duterte suggested that Quiboloy may have already left Davao City. She pointed out that Quiboloy had ample time to leave due to the prolonged Senate committee hearings on his alleged involvement in human trafficking, s*xual abuse, and other crimes.
Despite receiving subpoenas, Quiboloy did not attend any hearings, and authorities have yet to execute the arrest warrant against him, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the ongoing search in Davao. Sara also expressed concern about the impact of the delayed arrest on Davao City’s reputation and livelihood. Despite the warrant, Sara attended the KOJC’s anniversary celebration inside the compound.
