Mark Andrew Yulo Showcases His Gymnastics Skills
MARK ANDREW YULO – The father of Carlos Yulo demonstrated his knowledge of the sports his children are involved in.
In a Facebook post, Mr. Yulo was seen attempting some gymnastics moves during a visit to the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. This stadium, recognized as a training ground for various Filipino athletes, is where two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo first became familiar with gymnastics.
Netizens praised Mr. Yulo’s efforts, commenting that Carlos undoubtedly inherited his father’s talent.
To recall, Mark Andrew Yulo, the father of Olympic gymnast Carlos Yulo, gained attention after sharing a video of himself riding a bicycle to work. Despite his son’s substantial earnings from gymnastics, Mr. Yulo continues his job as a travel agent liaison to support his family. In the video, he conveyed a positive message, saying, “Bike to work, love and peace.”
Previously, Mr. Yulo clarified that he never used any of Carlos’ money, stating that if they had, their family wouldn’t rely on public transportation or bicycles. He mentioned that Carlos’ earnings had increased from PHP 6 million to PHP 11 million and emphasized that the funds had been handled properly, countering any suggestions of misuse.
Carlos Yulo, after winning two Olympic gold medals, received significant rewards and gifts. These included PHP 20 million each from President Bongbong Marcos and PAGCOR, PHP 14 million from the House of Representatives, and PHP 3 million from Megaworld. Additionally, Megaworld gifted Carlos a three-bedroom condo in Taguig, a Tiggo 7 Pro SUV from Chery Auto with lifetime free oil changes, and a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. All these rewards were confirmed tax-exempt by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), as per the National Internal Revenue Code.
Despite Carlos’ success and wealth, his father’s humble lifestyle remains grounded in simplicity and hard work.
