Pastor Apollo Quiboloy Now in Hands of Authorities, KOJC Lawyer Posts Statement
KOJC LAWYER – Attorney Israelito Torreon called the alleged decision of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to surrender as an “ultimate sacrifice”.
After more than two (2) weeks of the intensified efforts of the Philippine National Police to find Pastor Apollo Quiboloy inside the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound, he is now in the hands of the Philippine authorities. The PNP claimed that Apollo Quiboloy surrendered after a 24-hour ultimatum.
The Philippine National Police intensified its search operations against Quiboloy reportedly under an arrest warrant. It conducted drilling activities inside the KOJC compound as the authorities believed that there may be a bunker inside the compound.
The authorities drilled near the Jose Maria College building inside the compound. Previously, KOJC spokesperson Attorney Israelito Torreon claimed that their architects and engineers are already worried that the “deep” drilling may affect the stability of the school.
Previously, both Atty. Torreon and Vice President Sara Duterte expressed their belief that the Pastor is no longer inside the compound. According to the Vice President, there was enough time for him to leave Davao amid the investigation.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also apologized to the KOJC members. According to the Vice President, she committed a mistake for believing in the platform of “Unity” in 2022 and seeking the support of the KOJC members for Bongbong Marcos, who reacted to the move of Vice Pres. Duterte.
On Friday, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy surrendered to the Philippine authorities. Recently, KOJC lawyer who previously expressed his belief that the Pastor may have left the compound released a statement on the “surrender” of his client.
In a post on social media, Atty. Israelito Torreon said that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy decided to surrender to the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) because he allegedly wanted the happenings inside the KOJC compound and his members to stop.
According to the KOJC Lawyer, the Pastor cannot bear to witness the “sufferings” that his members are experiencing amid the authorities’ operations in searching for him. He stressed that that the JMC school is turned into a mining pit and the KOJC cathedral was desecrated.
“All of which caused Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s heart to bleed. Hence, even if he has the right to await the result of the legal remedies being resorted to by his lawyers, he decided to make the ultimate sacrifice,” the KOJC Lawyer stated in his post:
Previously, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s camp said that the Pastor wants a condition with Pres. Bongbong Marcos for his surrender. The Court of Appeals has extended the Freeze Order on his assets until February 2025.
