PH House Committee Chair Elizaldy Co Reacts To VP Sara Duterte’s Accusations
ELIZALDY CO – The PH House Appropriations Committee Chairman reacted to the accusation of Vice President Sara Duterte against the lawmakers.
The deliberation of the budget proposal of the office of Vice President Sara Duterte earned different reactions from the people. The OVP budget proposal was scrutinized at the Senate and the House of Representatives. Undeniably, the answers of the Vice President caught the attention of the people.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Senator Risa Hontiveros had a spar during the Senate deliberation of the 2025 budget proposal of the OVP. The lawmaker noticed that some assistance programs of the OVP are similar with the programs of the other agencies so she wanted the fund re-allocation.
Based on the previous statement of the Department of Budget and Management, the OVP is seeking a P2 billion budget for 2025. According to the budget department, the OVP budget proposal for 2025 does not include Confidential Funds.
Aside from the similar programs between the OVP with the other government agencies’, Sen. Hontiveros also asked about the P10 million budget allotted for the distribution of the book authored by Vice Pres. Duterte.
Vice Pres. Duterte was also called “bratinella to the max” after she snubbed the resumption of the deliberation of the 2025 budget proposal of the OVP at the House of Representatives. Prior to it, she heated exchange of statements with ACT Teachers party-list representative France Castro.
Amid the issues, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, in an interview released by the Office of the Vice President, claimed that she heard about the alleged talks of defunding the OVP. Duterte also reacted to the alleged talk that the OVP will be given a P1 budget. She stressed that they can work even without a budget.
The Vice President also claimed that the lawmakers are allegedly “scripted” in the deliberation of the budget proposal of the OVP. Based on a report on ABS-CBN, PH House Appropriations Committee chairman Elizaldy Co reacted to the claim of Duterte.
According to PH House Appropriations Committee chairman Elizaldy Co, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is allegedly the one who is scripted. He also cited that the Vice President studied her answers and she reads her responses.
“Siya po ang scripted, siya po ang budol. Peke po dahil nakita niyo naman may binabasa siya, inaral niya… Meron siyang mga kakampi na nag-abogado sa kanya nandun na, ‘shimenet, shimenet’ diba?” PH House Appropriations Committee chair Elizaldy Co said.
Vice Pres. Duterte expressed an accusation that it is allegedly the plan of the lawmakers to attack her. In a previous interview, Sara Duterte stressed that she is not a spoiled brat.
