LAKAWON ISLAND RESORT – An island resort in Cadiz City is offering free day-trip entrance to people named Carlos to commemorate Carlos Yulo’s historic Olympic accomplishments.

Carlos Yulo made history on August 3, becoming the first Filipino man and gymnast to win an Olympic gold medal with a score of 15.000 in the men’s floor exercise. The next day, he secured another gold in the vault with a score of 15.116, making him the Philippines’ first multiple-time Olympic champion.

In celebration, Lakawon Island Resort is offering free day trip entrance to individuals named Carlos, paying tribute to Yulo’s groundbreaking achievements and the pride he has brought to the nation.

Located in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, the resort announced on Facebook that those wishing to take advantage of the promotion must present a valid government ID proving their name is Carlos. The promo runs from August 9 to 11 (Friday to Sunday).

Earlier, a spa in Bacolod called Imperial Thai Lacson announced that it’s offering free massage to individuals who share the same name as the Olympic hero. The promotion is a gesture of celebration and support for Yulo’s groundbreaking achievements, which have brought immense pride to the nation.

Carlos Yulo’s historic Olympic achievements have garnered him numerous accolades and incentives from both government and private sectors, including promises of residential properties. These rewards highlight the pride and recognition his victories have brought to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the ongoing 2024 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad and branded as Paris 2024, runs from July 24 to August 11 in Paris, France. The Games feature 10,714 athletes from 206 nations competing in 329 events across 32 sports. This edition introduces breakdancing as an Olympic sport and utilizes both existing and temporary venues across Paris and 16 other cities, including a surfing site in Tahiti.
