Flood Enters Home of Ninong Ry in Malabon
NINONG RY – The popular food content creator took to social media to address the flooding situation in Malabon, blending humor with updates on the conditions. On Facebook, he shared photos from his kitchen, editing room, and garage, all partially submerged in floodwater, joking about how the flood has impacted him personally.
In a playful Instagram Reel, Ninong Ry was seen in pajamas wading through calf-deep floodwaters as he moved a motorcycle to a drier spot. He humorously explained to an off-camera person that he was not bothered by the flood but was instead cleaning the motorcycle. “Carwash lang, medyo madumi eh,” he said, adding that he wanted it to be “malinis na malinis”. He then joked about his new venture, “Boy Baha Underwash Cleaning Services,” claiming they use mineral water for better cleaning and inviting interest through a humorous call to action.
Shortly after, Ninong Ry posted another Reel from his editing room, where he and his team were managing computer wires to ensure safety amidst the flooding. Still in pajamas, he joked about the discomfort of his private parts getting wet from the floodwater, to which a staff member responded with a suggestion to clean up. Ninong Ry, a Malabon local, remarked about his familiarity with flood conditions, while also taking a moment to commend his diligent editor, Jerome, for continuing to work despite the adverse conditions.
The flooding in Malabon, as shown by Ninong Ry, is part of a broader issue affecting parts of Metro Manila, including Quezon City, Marikina, and Pasay, due to Typhoon Carina and heavy rains from the Habagat monsoon.
