Man Apprehended After Robbing Coffee Shop and Crashing Motorcycle
MISSION FAILED – A man in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, was apprehended after attempting to rob a coffee shop and subsequently crashing his motorcycle.
The suspect was pursued by the coffee shop’s owner. The pursuit caught the attention of patrolling police officers, who then intervened and arrested the suspect, as stated by Police Master Sergeant Rod Pating, the investigator on the case.
The 37-year-old suspect sustained injuries from the crash. It was discovered that he had ordered coffee before committing the robbery. During the arrest, authorities recovered five stolen cell phones and a wallet from the suspect, along with a loaded firearm.
The police investigation further revealed that the suspect had also recently held up a vape shop using a similar method. Pating explained the suspect’s modus operandi: carrying a gun, entering small stores, declaring a hold-up, and forcibly taking items, primarily cell phones. After each robbery, the suspect would change his clothes to avoid detection.
According to GMA News, the suspect confessed to the crimes, citing personal problems as his motivation. He explained that he was struggling financially, being a single parent, and dealing with a pregnant estranged wife. The suspect is now facing charges of robbery and violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
