Man Gets New TV from Ruru Madrid, Says He’s a Fan of Coco Martin
RURU MADRID vs COCO MARTIN – A man brought humor to the internet after receiving a brand-new television from the Kapuso star, only to mention another action star when asked if he watches Ruru’s show, “Black Rider.”
Ruru, along with fellow “Black Rider” star Jon Lucas, participated in distributing relief goods to Typhoon Carina victims in San Mateo, Rizal, through GMA Foundation’s Operation Bayanihan. During an episode of “Unang Hirit,” the actors were seen leading the relief efforts amid the post-typhoon cleanup.
In addition to distributing goods, the actors presented a 50-inch television to a resident whose TV had been destroyed by the flood. The grateful resident mentioned that they couldn’t afford to buy a new TV. Ruru then reassured him, saying, “Don’t worry, sir, Unang Hirit is here,” and gifted him the television.
Ruru enthusiastically added that the resident could now watch “Black Rider.” Jon Lucas then asked the resident if he frequently watched the show. The resident humorously responded that since the show began, he had been watching and admiring Coco Martin, causing the actors to burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, “Black Rider” is a television action drama series that aired on GMA Network from November 6, 2023, to July 26, 2024. Created by Erwin Caezar Bravo and directed by Rommel Penesa and Richard Arellano, the series stars Ruru Madrid as Elias P. Guerrero, a motorcycle delivery driver who becomes a vigilante known as the “Black Rider” to fight the Golden Scorpion syndicate. The show also features notable actors like Yassi Pressman, Matteo Guidicelli, and Katrina Halili.
The series, which consisted of 188 episodes, was part of GMA Network’s Telebabad lineup, replacing “Maging Sino Ka Man” and later succeeded by “Pulang Araw.” It was filmed in Metro Manila and produced by GMA Public Affairs, utilizing a multiple-camera setup. “Black Rider” also streamed on YouTube.
