First Alleged Victim of Jude Bacalso Shares Bad Experience with Him
ALVIN SUAN – The event host shared his negative experience with LGBTIQIA+ writer Jude Bacalso, who recently went viral on social media for allegedly forcing a waiter to stand and listen to his lecture for two hours.
Alvin recounted working with Bacalso at an event in 2017-2018, where he served as the emcee. He began by noting that he doubted Bacalso would remember him, as he was a relatively unknown host at the time.
The confrontation arose when Alvin was asked to call Bacalso’s attention for an intermission. In doing so, he mistakenly addressed him as ‘sir,’ similar to the waiter’s experience. “Sir, sabi ng mga kaibigan mo ikaw daw ang mag-intermission sa inyong mesa,” Alvin innocently told Jude. He was taken aback by Bacalso’s extreme reaction.
Alvin revealed that Bacalso threatened to slap him if he addressed him as ‘sir’ again. Bacalso gave him a sharp look and said, “Sir, ingnan sagpaa’ (Sir, sabihin mo, sampalin kita). His friends laughed, leaving Alvin humiliated. Alvin quickly apologized, saying “Ay ma’am diay sorry,” to which Bacalso responded, “Later na, kakain pa ako.”
Alvin noted that even Bacalso’s friends were aware of his attitude. He expressed his frustration, calling Bacalso mean for not sparing even the host and mentioned Bacalso’s disdainful attitude towards provincial people, referring to them as “lago” (dirty).
Reflecting on the incident, Alvin shared how humiliated he felt, as it was the first time he had been laughed at and scolded in public. As of writing, Alvin’s post has garnered thousands of shares on social media.
Meanwhile, Jude Bacalso has already issued an apology, but some netizens did not accept his explanation because, according to him, he did not demand that the waiter stand for the entire duration; instead, the waiter volunteered to do so.
