Content Creator Earns Criticism for Eating Burger and Speaking Bisaya in Viral Video
A content creator goes viral on social media and faces online criticism simply for eating a burger and speaking Bisaya.
Recently, Kirby Ingco Gusto, a TikTok user, shared a video of himself enjoying a Yum Burger in a mukbang session. The post immediately circulated online and garnered various reactions from the internet users.
Unfortunately, the comments section quickly filled with negative remarks targeting him for being Bisaya.
Some commenters asked, “first time lang daw ba nito makakain ng Jollibee” while others mocked with statements like, “Mukbang ng mga Bisaya.” Despite the hurtful comments, Kirby chose to respond with grace, apologizing to his bashers even though he had done nothing wrong.
Another netizen named Robert Balios Lomocso raised an important question “What’s wrong with Bisaya people enjoying food and making videos about it?” He emphasizes the issue where many people make a hobby out of belittling others, especially those from the Bisaya community.
Lomocso questioned why there’s an unfortunate stereotype associated with being Bisaya, such as being poorly dressed, easily deceived, or naïve. However, the reality is quite different. Many Bisaya individuals are fluent in English and possess impressive talents.
Robert said that every person, regardless of their background, deserves to enjoy good food and share their experiences without fear of judgment. We have no right to judge someone, especially when we don’t know their struggles or what it took for them to create that content.
For some, enjoying a simple burger might seem senseless, but it can be a meaningful moment for others. Every individual has their own story, talents, and values. It’s important not to judge someone based on their origin or language.

“Maliit na bagay para sa atin pero malaking bagay na yun para sa iba,” Lomocso wrote.
