Customer Complains About Cockroach in Ordered Pancit Palabok
COCKROACH IN PALABOK – A customer took to social media to complain about the cockroach she found in the ordered pancit palabok from an online delivery.
In a Facebook post, Icel Pangilinan shared her excitement when the food arrived, only for it to turn to disgust upon finding a strange object, initially mistaken for squid, among the toppings. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was a cockroach and took a close-up photo for proof.
Pangilinan publicly called out Pancit ng taga Malabon after finding a cockroach in her delivered pancit palabok. Despite several attempts to contact the store via phone and Facebook, Pangilinan received no response. She emphasized that her intention was not to discredit the store but to remind food businesses to ensure food safety. The incident caused significant disappointment and trust issues, as the initial excitement over the delicious-smelling dish turned to disgust upon discovering the cockroach.
“Ang saya saya pa naman namin kasi ang bango nung pag bukas ng PALABOK!! Yun pala Grabe naka toppings yung ipis, akala namin PUSIT KALOKA! Mabuti nalang CHINECK KO MUNA at hindi pa na serve sa mga staff. Grabe anxiety at trust issue nakaka disappoint kayo!” she said.
Pangilinan also addressed accusations that she might have planted the cockroach, showing CCTV footage in the comments to prove that she had not opened the food before discovering the cockroach.
In an exclusive interview with Balita, Pangilinan mentioned that she had repeatedly tried calling and messaging the food store through all available contact details but received no response. The delivery service refunded her payment. “Paulit-ulit ko po sila tinatawagan. Cannot be reached kahit sa landline,” said Pangilinan.
Icel Pangilinan emphasized that she was not seeking a refund but a simple apology from the palabok store. As of press time, the palabok store has yet to issue any statement regarding the incident.
