BINI – The Nation’s Girl Group – sports Jabbawockeez-inspired outfits on their way to General Santos City for their “BINIverse” concert.

BINI is a prominent Filipino girl group formed in 2019 through ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy. Originally known as Star Hunt Academy Girls (SHA Girls), the group debuted as BINI on June 11, 2021, with their single “Born to Win.” The name “BINI” is derived from the Tagalog word binibini, meaning “young lady,” reflecting the group’s modern Filipina identity.

Consisting of eight members—Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena—BINI quickly made a mark in the Philippine music scene. They gained widespread recognition for their energetic performances and catchy music that blends P-pop with elements of bubblegum pop, teen pop, and EDM. Their pre-debut single “Da Coconut Nut” was an electropop remake of a classic Filipino song, which set the stage for their debut success.

Since their debut, BINI has achieved notable milestones. They became the first Filipino pop group to top the Billboard Philippine Songs chart and the first to have the most monthly listeners on Spotify. In June 2024, BINI made history by entering the Top Artist Global Chart on Spotify at 193rd place and became the first Filipino act to top Spotify Philippines’ Daily Top Artists chart.

Their music often features a mix of contemporary pop and traditional Filipino elements, which has contributed to their distinctive sound and appeal. The group is also known for its vibrant visuals and high-energy performances, influenced by K-pop but retaining a unique Filipino flavor.
