Did the MUPH Organization Not Pay Trophy Maker Jef Albea?
JEF ALBEA – The rant of the trophy maker on the social networking site Facebook is gaining attention after he revealed that he allegedly did not get paid by the Miss Universe Philippines organization for the trophies he designed for the recent competition, which crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo from Bulacan.
In his post on Wednesday, June 12, he claims he was not paid for the trophies he made for the pageant. Jef Albea expressed frustration over not being paid for the trophies he designed and crafted for Miss Universe Philippines. Despite his effort, dedication, and passion in creating the trophies, he claims that Miss Universe Philippines did not fulfill its payment obligation, leading him to feel ignored and disregarded.
“I DID NOT GET PAID. MISS UNIVERSE vanished into thin air. They refused to pay me for the trophies I designed and crafted for the coronation night. All the effort, dedication and passion I put in creating these pieces, ended up ignored and disregarded when payment was due,” he said.
Albea said that regardless of what happens, he will not accept even a single centavo from MUPH, but what he wants to achieve is respect for artists like himself.
Jef Albea declares he no longer wants any payment from the organization. Instead, he emphasizes the need for artists to be respected. He stresses that their creations involve intense dedication, deep emotions, and sacrifices, not simply an exchange for deals. Albea passionately advocates for fellow artists, highlighting that not everyone can endure such mistreatment. He urges others to value and appreciate their work, emphasizing the importance of not taking artists’ efforts for granted.
Meanwhile, there has been no response, reaction, or official statement yet from the management of MUPH regarding this issue.
