Sheena Palad might face MTRCB over the TiktoClock incident
SHEENA PALAD – The singer might face the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to explain why she pulled the hair of a “Beat My Birit” contestant, Rica Maer, during their performance on June 19, 2024.
During the competition, Sheena unexpectedly grabbed Rica’s hair and chased her, despite Rica trying to avoid the confrontation. The incident was captured on camera, including the shocked reaction of comedian Pokwang, who later confirmed to Ogie Diaz that they were all surprised by Sheena’s aggressive behavior. According to Pokwang, the initial plan was for Sheena and Rica to tease each other, not to get physical.
Ogie Diaz mentioned that the MTRCB is being alerted to take action regarding Sheena’s conduct. In the meantime, Rica’s boyfriend, Johann Enriquez, encouraged Rica to announce that the incident was scripted. However, Rica refused to comment on the matter and instead issued an apology to reduce the backlash she was receiving.
“Tinatawagan ang pansin ng MTRCB, kung ano raw ang magiging aksyon ng MTRCB sa ginawang ito ni Sheena Palad,” said Ogie.
Sheena also apologized, stating, “Maayos po kami ni Rica ngayon at napatawad nya na po ako sa mga pangyayari. Naguusap din po kami and she is assuring me that she is okay. Gusto ko din magapologize sa mga netizens natin na nag call-out po sa akin.”
As of now, the MTRCB has not yet provided an official statement on the issue. To recall, Sheena Palad made headlines as the “young singer” who replaced veteran actress Eva Darren as a presenter at the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS). Sheena explained that she had originally been scheduled to perform at the event and was approached suddenly by a FAMAS staff member to step in for Eva, who was already present but unable to fulfill her presenting duties.
