One of the actresses who are set to be given an award at the 7th the EDDYs awards night is veteran actress Eva Darren. The organization of current and former entertainment editors of the leading broadsheets, online portals, and tabloid newspapers in the country are set to give the Movie Icon Awards to the veteran actress, Leo Martinez, Lito Lapid, Nova Villa, and Gina Alajar.

Eva Darren, Nova Villa, Leo Martinez, Gina Alajar, and Lito Lapid will be given the Movie Icon Awards for their huge dedication and love for the filmmaking industry and their continued efforts to uplift the qualify of the Philippine movies.

The veteran actors and actresses have done several movies in their entire career. In the case of Eva, one of the most popular movies she made was the 1960 film Pulubi which earned her awards. She won a Best Supporting Actress award from FAMAS or the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards. Based on the article, she won two (2) Best Supporting Actress awards from her role in Ang Pulubi.

The name of Eva Darren recently went viral online due to a FAMAS fiasco. The veteran actress was invited to be a presenter at the prestigious awards night of the film award-giving body. However, the event ended without her being called to be onstage and she was left with apologies.

The FAMAS social media manager made revelations amid the issue. He debunked the claim of the award-giving body that they looked for the veteran actress at the event but was not able to locate her so they replaced her as a presenter.

Aside from Eva Darren and the other four (4) veteran actors and actresses who are set to receive the Movie Icon Awards, the late comic scriptmaker and director Carlo J. Caparas will also be given a posthumous award.
