GMA-7 News Anchor Arnold Clavio Details Experience due to Hemorrhagic Stroke

ARNOLD CLAVIO – The veteran GMA-7 news anchor who is also more popularly called “Igan” suffered from Hemorrhagic Stroke.

One of the most popular news anchors in the Philippines who has been with GMA-7 for several years now is Arnold Clavio or popularly called Igan. He’s a news anchor in the Kapuso late-night newscast Saksi, the morning show Unang Hirit, and One on One: Walang Personalan, a morning radio show on DZBB with Connie Sison. Arnold was even tagged by Lolit Solis as one of the reliable newscasters in the country.

However, recently, Arnold is absent in his shows. While some people may not notice the absence of Igan as he might just be taking some time for certain work, the veteran news anchor actually encountered a health situation that led him to the hospital.

In a recent social media post, Arnold Clavio revealed that he suffered from Hemorrhagic Stroke last June 11, 2024. According to him, it was a regular day for him. He was on his way home from Eastridge Golf Course when he experienced numbness in his right arm and leg.

The news anchor felt the numbness in the right part of his body while he was traveling. He revealed that he could no longer feel his feet pressing on the gas pedal and the car break. He stopped at a gasoline station.

According to Arnold Clavio, at the fuel station, he went to the restroom to check himself. He had a hard time walking towards the restroom and he needed something to hold on while on his way. He checked on his face in the mirror if it is distorted and his eyes are inflamed.

Igan said that his face was fine so he returned to his car but he still had a hard time. From Antipolo, he tried his best to carefully drive as he planned to stop by at the first hospital he will pass through. He drove along the Sumulong Highway until he reached the Emergency Room of Fatima University Medical Center.

The veteran news anchor further shared that he underwent several testing and the results showed that his Blood Pressure was at 220/120 while his Blood Sugar level reached 270. He was advised to undergo a CT Scan.

According to Arnold Clavio, the CT Scan result showed that there was a “slight bleeding” in the left side of his brain and he suffered from Hemorrhagic Stroke. He was transferred to St. Luke’s Medical Center and their brain attack team abruptly treated him. Here’s his Instagram post:
