There are a lot of dishes that are favorite of many Filipinos. One of these dishes is the Sisig which is a Filipino dish that is usually made from pork jowl, belly, ears, and chicken liver. - 2 12 oz. can tuna
- 0.5 cup chopped scallions
- 4 teaspoons soy sauce
- 4 medium red onions minced
- 1 cup crushed chicharon
- 6 to 8 pieces Thai chili pepper chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoon butter
- 6 tablespoons cooking oil
Sisig is one of the fastest dish to prepare. The second part of the Tuna Sisig recipe is the cooking process which may take as fast as 25 minutes. Here are the steps on how to cook this delicious food:
Step 1
Drain the liquid from the tuna using the strainer. Press the fish meat into the strainer or you may also use a cheese cloth and squeeze the tuna until the liquid comes out.
Step 2
Add some cooking oil in a pan and heat it. Pan fry the tuna until the fish meat’s color turns light to medium brown.
Step 3
Add the onion and saute it until it becomes soft. Afterwards, add the scallions and the chili pepper. Saute for two (2) minutes more.
Step 4
Season your delicious Tuna Sisig with ground black pepper, garlic powder, and soy sauce. Stir to mix the ingredients and continue cooking for one (1) more minute.
Step 5
Add half of the chicharon and the mayonnaise into the cooking pot. Mix the ingredients well and transfer them into a plate and set aside for a while.
Step 6
Heat a sizzling plate and melt some butter on it. Add the cooked Tuna Sisig and continue cooking it for around 30 seconds more. Afterwards, remove the sizzling plate from the heat and top your delicious sisig with chicharon. You can serve it with steamed white rice. Enjoy your food!
