To Be Managed by Lolit Solis, Paolo Contis Buys Contract from Ex-Manager
PAOLO CONTIS – The actor-television host bought out his contract from his former manager for PHP300,000 so that he could be handled by Manay Lolit Solis.
Paolo is an actor, host, singer, and comedian of Italian descent. He began his career as a child actor on the ABS-CBN show “Ang TV” during the 1990s and has been active in the entertainment industry since 1988. Contis, a GMA Network artist for over 20 years, has received numerous acting awards. Despite early success in youth-oriented programs like “Tabing Ilog,” he transitioned to more mature roles upon moving to GMA Network in 2004.
Known for both comic and antagonist roles, he earned the Best Actor award at the 24th PMPC Star Awards for his role in “Banal” in 2008. Contis’s filmography includes various television series, reality shows, and movies. In 2020, his films “Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap” and “Through Night and Day” became hits on Netflix Philippines. Recently, in 2023, he became a host for the revamped “Eat Bulaga!” show.
Contis has three children from his previous marriage and relationships and is currently in a relationship with actress Yen Santos. Throughout his career, Contis has remained a significant figure in Philippine entertainment, balancing diverse roles in both comedic and dramatic genres.
During Lolit Solis’s 77th birthday celebration, Paolo Contis revealed that he bought out his contract from his former manager for PHP300,000 so that he could be handled by Solis. Contis shared how he wanted Solis to manage him despite her initial refusal due to her involvement in the 1994 Manila Film Festival controversy.
Contis humorously thanked Solis for potentially spreading his secrets and then defending him. Solis was deeply touched by Contis’s message. Despite initial emotions, she expressed immense joy, deeming it her happiest birthday celebration.
