Manila Police Officer Takes Care of Stray Dogs
A Manila police officer has touched the hearts of netizens for taking care of stray dogs at his station.
Recently, Krizlyn Mayao, a TikTok user, shared a video of a police officer from Manila Police Station 11 in Binondo who takes police officer from Manila Police Station 11 in Binondo. The cop earns the admiration of the netizens.
The kind-hearted policeman identified as Staff Sergeant Oliver Alfonso, a night shift patroller assigned to the Soler Outpost since 2018, was seen providing water to the street dogs and allowing them to rest on the chairs near his desk.
Alfonso shared that his family owns five dachshunds, one of which is already 10 years old. Additionally, they care for stray cats that stay just outside their home. The cop mentioned that his compassion for animals extends to his colleagues as well.
Many of his colleagues who work the graveyard shift are also dog lovers and are currently helping out three dogs at their main station, located just behind the Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo.
“Actually, when there are stray dogs, they let them inside the office. They are taking care of three dogs; two of them are already fat,” said Alfonso.
The dogs featured in the TikTok video have been staying at the Soler Outpost for almost two years. Alfonso explained that providing water and food to the stray cats and dogs is the least he could do to help them.
The latter emphasized the importance of being a voice for these voiceless animals. “They cannot speak, so they just approach you and make you realize that they need help, shelter, and food. As they say, they are voiceless, and we need to be their voice,” he said.
