Expecially For You Searchee Calls Madlang People ‘Dabarkads’

Instead of “madlang people,” a searchee of Expecially For You called the audience “Dabarkads”

EXPECIALLY FOR YOU – One of the searchees on the It’s Showtime segment accidentally called the “madlang people” or audience “Dabarkads” while introducing himself. This immediately garnered various reactions from the audience and the show’s hosts.

Expecially for You is a reality dating segment that started on December 4, 2023, replacing the dance competition segment It’s Showdown. It airs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The name is a play on Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan’s song “Especially for You” and the word “ex,” referring to past relationships. In some cases, if a searcher’s ex isn’t present, a close friend or relative may join instead.

The segment is open to people of all genders aged 18 and above. Auditions are ongoing on-site and in malls across the country as of February 28, 2024. Couples who have broken up but remain on good terms, as well as single individuals “ready to mingle,” can audition.

The segment has four parts. Initially, the hosts interview the ex-couple about their past relationship. During the game, the searcher shares thoughts about the searchees, influencing the match decision. After each searchee is questioned, the searcher gives a “green flag” to those who meet their criteria. The searchee with the most “green flags” is compared with the searcher to see if they match. In case of a tie, a “Love Selling” round occurs where searchees have 20 seconds to convince the searcher.

The segment also includes “Searchees’ Introduction,” “Exchange of Hearts,” “Love Selling,” and “Ex-Deal,” where non-selected searchees are revealed, and the searcher offers advice to the new couple, who then enjoy a dinner date arranged by the show.

Earlier, one of the searchees on the It’s Showtime segment accidentally called the “madlang people” or audience “Dabarkads” while introducing himself. This immediately garnered various reactions from the audience and the show’s hosts.

While introducing himself, the searchee, visibly nervous, suddenly mentioned the term “Dabarkads,” a well-known term for fans of the rival show, Eat Bulaga. Vice Ganda, known for his quick thinking and wit, instantly made a joke out of the situation. He humorously said, “Ito naman gusto pang magpa-viral, bukayo namang sinadya!”

Despite the small mistake, the searchee remained positive and cheerful, continuing to banter with the hosts. Eventually, the said searchee was chosen by the searcher.
