FAMAS Awardee Divina Valencia Makes Another Claim about the Gabi ng Parangal
DIVINA VALENCIA – The veteran actress claimed that she warned a staff of FAMAS at the event not to stop her during her speech at the event.
Recently, the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards held the 72nd Gabi ng Parangal which gathered several actors and actresses in the Philippine entertainment industry. The stars from different generations were present at the event of the longest film award-giving body in the country.
One of the celebrities at the event was veteran actress Divina Valencia. She was one of those who were given the Iconic Movie Actress of Philippine Cinema awards at the event. She was seated in the same table with Eva Darren who was invited to be a presenter at the FAMAS event.
Thus, Divina was one of those who reacted at the FAMAS issue involving Eva Darren. The Gabi ng Parangal ended without the veteran actress being called to be a presenter onstage.
Divina Valencia found the reason of FAMAS unacceptable. The film award-giving body claimed that they were not able to see Eva Darren at the event so they looked for someone who will replace her as presenter. She also stressed that their table was located almost in front of the stage.
Eva and her family accepted the apology of FAMAS. The issue gathered countless reactions from netizens who were also disappointed with what happened. The veteran actress purchased a dress, a pair of heels, and a hair and make-up package for the event. She also paid Php 20,000 for her and her three (3) grandchildren’s dinner.
Recently, Divina Valencia expressed a claim against FAMAS. Based on an article on Pep, the veteran actress revealed that she warned a staff at the event not to stop her when she will give her speech as she has prepared one.
According to the veteran actress, while they were at the backstage, she called a woman with a microphone and told her that she has prepared a speech. She told the woman to tell her co-staff and the director not to stop her when she is giving a speech.
“‘May babasahin ako. Ngayon, sabihin mo sa mga kasamahan mo at sa director, huwag akong i-stop, ha? Magwawala ako sa stage,'” the veteran actress said referring to her statement to the staff.
However, based on the article, the FAMAS production staff said that they cannot respond to the request of Divina Valencia. That’s when she gave another warning.
“‘Ganun ba? O, di sige, magkasubukan tayo kapag hindi nagulo ang gabi ninyo. Don’t stop me sa pagbasa ng inihanda kong sasabihin,'” the actress said.
According to Divina, there were instances at the event when the FAMAS staff stopped some personalities while they were giving their speeches. The actress is disappointed by the actions of the film award-giving body when radio personality Tina Loy and veteran actor Romeo Rivera who were allegedly interrupted while they were speaking in front.
