Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards’ sweetness triggers reactions from AlDub fans.
KATHDEN – Some AlDub fans expressed dismay over the sweetness displayed by Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards in photos circulating online. These photos show the Kapuso star surprising the Kapamilya star with a bouquet of red roses and a gift as she celebrates her birthday.
Because of this, netizens have been shipping the tandem “KathDen,” which formed due to the movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” becoming the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time before being surpassed by “Rewind” starring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes during the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Netizens are thrilled by the chemistry between the two, and if they’re unable to be together in real life, they hope for a sequel to the aforementioned film.
Meanwhile, some “AlDub fans” expressed that their perception of Kathryn would change if she pursued Alden, as they believe it would ruin the “family” he built with Yaya Dub, the character played by “Eat Bulaga” host Maine Mendoza, who gained immense popularity on the show in 2015.
“Magbabago talaga pagtingin ko kay Kathryn kapag pinatulan si Alden. May anak sila ni Maine!” one netizen wrote. “Kathryn, magagalit sa ‘yo ang AlDub nation, baka ipagtirik ka nila ng kandila at kumanta na naman sila haha,” another commented.
To recall, Alden and Maine previously addressed some “delulu fans,” clarifying that they don’t have a child and whatever was formed because of AlDub was only in Kalyeserye.
“AlDub” refers to the tandem of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza in the Philippine television variety show “Eat Bulaga!” The term “AlDub” is a portmanteau of the first syllables of Alden and Yaya Dub, the character Maine Mendoza portrays in the show. Their on-screen romance gained massive popularity and sparked a nationwide craze, especially during the segment called “Kalyeserye.” The AlDub phenomenon became a cultural phenomenon in the Philippines, with millions of fans eagerly following their storyline and rooting for their on-screen relationship.
