The Filipina beauty queen-actress faced criticism for fixing Miss Botswana’s hair during the competition. A Botswanian content creator accused Megan of racism, implying that she was undermining Miss Botswana’s confidence and suggesting her hair might be a wig.

The accusations were baseless, as Miss Botswana’s hair was natural, and Megan’s actions were innocent. Despite severe backlash, Megan’s supporters remained steadfast in defending her character against the unfounded allegations made by the content creator.

She believes that this could have caused distress, for which she apologizes. Megan revealed that she privately apologized to Lesego Chombo and extended her apologies to those who witnessed the incident for any discomfort or confusion it may have caused.

This coud have caused distress during that moment and I have been made aware that culturally, this is unacceptable. We have spoken privately last night at the hotel and I have apologized to Lesego in private. To those who witnessed the incident, I also want to apologize for any discomfort or confusion my actions may have caused. It was a thoughtless and disrespectful act, and I take full responsibility for it. I assure you that it was not my intention to invade personal space or make anyone feel uncomfortable. I deeply regret my actions and will strive to be more mindful and respectful in the future.”
