Imee Marcos ‘Deeply Saddened’ by What’s Happening to Quiboloy: “Mabait siya sa atin”

Senator Imee Marcos Reacts to the Situation Involving Quiboloy

PASTOR APOLLO QUIBOLOY – Senator Imee Marcos expressed being “deeply saddened” by the events surrounding the leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) because, according to her, he is kind and “helps so many.”

In an interview reported by News5 on Thursday, February 29, Senator Imee was asked if she agrees with her brother and former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s statement that Quiboloy should face the Senate and House hearings to answer questions about the allegations against him.

The senator responded that the Senate and House indeed have “fundamental power” to issue subpoenas. However, she said, Quiboloy should be given “substansive at procedural due process” and the right against “self-incrimination.”

“Ang ibig kong sabihin, lungkot na lungkot ako sa mga pangyayari tungkol sa SMNI at kay Pastor Quiboloy. Mabait siya sa atin at, higit sa lahat, talagang tumutulong sa napakarami,” Imee Marcos said. “Kaya’t malungkot ako na nauwi sa ganito at sana naisaayos na lamang ito nang mas mapayapa at mas tahimik na pamamaraan,” she added.

It is noteworthy that the Senate and House recently issued subpoenas against the pastor in connection with reported misconduct by KOJC and violations by SMNI. KOJC has been linked to cases involving exploitation, assault, and mistreatment.

Recently, a Filipino and two Ukrainians who claim to have been affected appeared before the Senate hearing to share their experiences of mistreatment reportedly inflicted by Quiboloy. The pastor did not attend the aforementioned Senate hearing, leading to the issuance of a subpoena against him.
