Eric Carmen, an American singer and songwriter, has passed away
ERIC CARMEN – The American singer and songwriter passed away at the age of 74.
Eric’s wife, Amy, announced the musician’s death. Apparently, she did not disclose the date and cause of her husband’s death but requested privacy for their mourning.
In a statement, Amy described him as sweet, loving, and talented, stating that he passed away peacefully in his sleep over the weekend. According to Amy, Eric found joy in knowing that his music had touched many lives and considers it his lasting legacy. Amy asked for privacy as the family mourned their significant loss and concluded with the sentiment “Love Is All That Matters… Faithful and Forever.”
“It is with tremendous sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Eric Carmen. Our sweet, loving and talented Eric passed away in his sleep, over the weekend. It brought him great joy to know, that for decades, his music touched so many and will be his lasting legacy,” she said. “Please respect the family’s privacy as we mourn our enormous loss. Love Is All That Matters… Faithful and Forever,” she added.
Meanwhile, Eric Carmen was an American singer, songwriter, and musician known for his contributions to pop and rock music. Born on August 11, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, Carmen rose to fame as a member of the influential rock band The Raspberries during the early 1970s. The band’s catchy melodies and Carmen’s distinctive voice helped them achieve success with hits like “Go All the Way” and “Overnight Sensation (Hit Record).”
After The Raspberries disbanded in 1975, Carmen embarked on a solo career, achieving further success with his self-titled debut album, which featured the hit single “All by Myself.” The song became a signature piece for Carmen, showcasing his vocal range and songwriting abilities. Throughout his career, Carmen continued to release solo albums and singles, including “Hungry Eyes,” which was featured in the soundtrack for the film “Dirty Dancing” and became a chart-topping hit.
