Robin Padilla Urges Press To Put An End To “IV Drip” Issue

ROBIN PADILLA – Actor-turned-senator Robin Padilla pleaded to the press to put an end to the controversy surrounding the “IV drip.”

The photos of Mariel Padilla receiving an IV drip in her husband Senator Robin Padilla’s senate office sparked widespread criticism, with many expressing disappointment that the respected senate setting appeared to be transformed into a beauty salon or skincare clinic during the treatment.

Mariel initially shared a photo of the session, featuring the office’s official seal in the background. However, she promptly removed the pictures after they went viral online.

Senator Robin Padilla apologized for any negative perceptions stemming from the images, stating, “Kung may nakita po silang masama sa larawan na ‘yan, paumanhin po.” The Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges Senator Nancy Binay, also weighed in on the IV drip issue, emphasizing the need for people to exercise caution and mindfulness in their actions.

In response to social media criticism, actress-host Mariel Padilla issued an apology on Sunday to the Senate and the public for undergoing a Vitamin C drip in her husband Robin Padilla’s office. In a statement shared on IG, Mariel clarified that the drip she received was Vitamin C, not glutathione.

Robin Padilla had a brief interaction with the press at the Senate, where the primary focus was on obtaining information about the contents of the letter related to an apology concerning his wife Mariel Padilla’s IV drip session in his office.

According to a video shared by ABS-CBN, a reporter asked if there was a separate letter addressed to Sen. Nancy Binay, to which he clarified that there was no separate letter and indicated that there was only one letter sent to the Senate. When pressed for more details about the letter’s contents by another member of the press, he then provided a response.

“Alam niyo tigilan niyo na ang political issue na yan, nakaka-ano (gestured towards his heart), sa totoo lang. Andami nating dapat pag-usapan. Hindi siguro yung ganitong…wala naman tayong ano. Okay? Thank you po.”
