Mayor Albee Benitez addresses rumors of him being linked to a daring actress
ALBEE BENITEZ – The mayor of Bacolod City is currently being linked to a popular daring actress.
Albee Benitez, whose real name is Alfredo Abelardo Bantug Benitez, was born on December 20, 1966. He is a Filipino businessman and politician who has been serving as the Mayor of Bacolod since June 30, 2022. Prior to his mayoralty, he served three consecutive terms as the representative of Negros Occidental’s 3rd district from 2010 to 2019.
Born in Palo Alto, California, Benitez was raised by parents from Negros Occidental. He attended La Salle Green Hills for primary and secondary education and later pursued a mathematics degree at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He achieved a silver medal in water skiing at the 1984 Southeast Asian Games and later became a national athlete. Benitez is known for founding the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation, Inc., and Kaayong Lawas Foundation Hospital.
In his business career, Benitez is the majority owner and chairman of the gaming firm Leisure & Resorts World Corporation (LRWC). He also served as the president of LRWC. Additionally, he founded and owns Brightlight Productions, a blocktime partner of Cignal Entertainment for TV5, which hosts talents from ABS-CBN and GMA Network.
The mayor of Bacolod City is currently being linked to a popular daring actress. This speculation began after they were spotted together at the airport while traveling to Japan. Mayor Albee, however, clarified that he and his wife have been separated for several years, having obtained a dissolution in court. When asked about the duration of their separation, he confirmed that they had not been a couple for several years.
“We have not been a couple for several years already. In fact, we have gotten a dissolution in court several years back,” he said as per pep.ph.
While some rumors circulated about the mayor being linked to other attractive actresses, he remained calm and responded with meaningful smiles, not directly addressing the speculations. The daring actress in question has long been associated with an actor-turned-politician who is also separated from his spouse.
