Yasmien Kurdi reacts to 299 engagement ring issue
YASMIEN KURDI – The actress expressed her opinion on the exaggerated reaction of numerous netizens to the 299 engagement ring issue.
On Facebook, the 34-year-old actress remarked that the netizens were overreacting to the issue, citing her own experience of not receiving an engagement ring from her husband, Rey Soldevilla, and yet they are still content. “P299 na ring issue… medyo OA. Ako nga wala naman ako engagement ring, tapos wedding rings namin di naman nasosoot kasi di kami sanay. Kasal namin 20k lang,” Yasmien shared.
She suggested that couples planning to get married should consider investing the money they initially intended to spend on a ring elsewhere. Yasmien recommended putting the funds into real estate, saying it prevents financial strain from renting and focuses less on appearances. She emphasized that material possessions are fleeting, and their perceived value often depends on personal pride in wearing them.
“In my opinion, iinvest niyo nalang pera niyo sa lupa at bahay. Para di kayo mamulubi sa renta at di puro porma. Laking tipid ng hindi nagrerenta ng bahay. Ang material na bagay nadadala lang yan. Minsan nagmumukhang mahal kapag proud mo siya sootin. Minsan naman ang mahal ng soot ng isang tao, pero di naman mukhang mahal. Di ko din alam kung bakit,” she stated.
Her post elicited mixed reactions from netizens. Here are some of the comments:
