Here’s the opinion of Vice Ganda on the 299 engagement ring issue
VICE GANDA – The Unkabogable Comedian shared his opinion about the 299 engagement ring issue.
In recent days, the P299 engagement ring issue has been the talk of the town. This arose when a woman expressed her disappointment upon discovering that her boyfriend had purchased her engagement ring from Shopee, and it was priced at only 299 pesos.
She wonders whether she should make a big deal out of it or if she is being too immature. Now, she’s contemplating whether to ignore her feelings or confront him, as she doesn’t want to ruin the moment.
The guy behind the issue has aired his side. According to him, it hurts a lot knowing that his girlfriend did not appreciate his efforts for her. He questioned if the price of the engagement ring does matter.
During the “EXpecially for You” segment of It’s Showtime on January 8, 2024, Vice Ganda gave his opinion about the 299 engagement ring.
Aside from Vice Ganda, one of the celebrities who reacted to the issue is Yasmien Kurdi.
The 34-year-old actress said that netizens were exaggerating the issue, drawing from her own experience of not receiving an engagement ring from her husband, Rey Soldevilla, yet they remain fulfilled.
She advised couples intending to marry to redirect the money they planned to use for a ring to other investments. Yasmien proposed considering real estate, asserting that it alleviates the financial burden of renting and places less emphasis on outward appearances. She stressed that material possessions are temporary, and their perceived worth often relies on personal pride in owning them.
