Here’s Rendon Labador’s message to Jo Koy
RENDON LABADOR – The social media personality shared an open letter addressed to Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy.
In his Facebook post on Wednesday, January 10, Rendon said that Jo Koy shouldn’t have used the excuse of having a short preparation time as the host for the Golden Globe Awards.
“Ang tanga talaga ni Jokoy at sobrang hina, hindi lumaban. Dapat hindi na nagdahilan na 10 days lang at hindi na dapat nanisi ng ibang writers niya dahil sa kapalpakan niya. Dapat ginamit niya yung ‘attention’ na nakuha niya para ipakilala yung totoong sarili niya at hindi yung nag-’drama’ at ‘nanisi pa ng iba’,” said Rendon.
Rendon stated that he doesn’t care if Jo Koy was given only ten days to prepare for hosting the award ceremony because the comedian accepted the offer. This means that if Jo Koy accepted the job despite the short preparation time, he should be ready for any consequences that may arise. He shouldn’t make excuses or blame others.
“Dapat ang ginawa mo, sinabi mo sa buong mundo na binigay mo ang best mo at nagpakatotoo ka lang sa ginawa mo. WALANG IBANG WRITER na masisisi at ikaw lang lahat yun. LEARN TO BE ACCOUNTABLE SA LAHAT NG GAGAWIN MO SA BUHAY MO,” he stressed He further said, “Na-pressure ka lang at na bash ka parang umatras na yung bayag mo. Hindi ka man lang lumaban, pa-drama drama ka pa diyan.”
In conclusion, Rendon advised Jo Koy not to worry about whether other people will approve or disapprove of what he’s doing. “Huwag mong expect na magugustuhan ka ng mga tao sa paligid mo. Sana maintindihan mo ‘yan kasi nasa sitwasyon ka ngayon na MAKE IT OR BREAK IT,'” he concluded.
It can be recalled that one of Jo Koy’s jokes at the recent Golden Globe Awards targeted multi-Grammy award-winning American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift. As a result, the comedian received harsh words from netizens, and he reportedly felt hurt by the criticism.
