Here’s the explanation from the mother of ‘Mang Boy Jr.’ about why her son behaved that way
MANG BOY JR. – The mother of the vehicle owner who went viral for his confrontation with other drivers explained why her son behaved that way.
A vehicle owner, referred to as ‘Mang Boy Jr.’ by netizens, has recently gone viral three times due to confrontations with other drivers captured and shared on social media. The incidents occurred in various locations within Quezon City, leading the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to consider potential charges against him.
Mang Boy, the person who gained viral attention in 2022 for confronting a group celebrating New Year, bears a resemblance to the driver who recently went viral in the first week of this year. However, the man’s mother has appealed to the public for understanding, shedding light on her son’s mental health struggles.
She explained that her son, who lost his job at a call center in December, is facing depression, which she believes contributed to his confrontational behavior. To support her claim, she presented documents detailing her son’s mental health issues.
“Ayaw ko ngang magkaganyan siya dahil siyempre anak ko siya. Hindi siya nakakahiya, nakakaawa din,” the mother said. “Nagkakaganyan siya dahil sa depression yata dahil sa nawalan siya ng trabaho, call center kasi. Nitong December natanggal siya,” she added.
Expressing concern for her son’s portrayal, she emphasized that he is not to be seen as shameful but rather as someone in a pitiable situation. She urged the drivers who encountered her son to consider the circumstances and, if possible, to overlook the incidents, emphasizing that no harm was done.
“Sana wag nalang nilang pansinin kasi hindi naman sila nasaktan,” she said. In a gesture of cooperation, the family is open to working with the LTO to address the issues arising from the viral confrontations.
