Miles Ocampo: “Yes, I’m cancer-free.”
MILES OCAMPO – After undergoing thyroid surgery last year, the “Family of Two” actress announced that she’s now “cancer-free”.
She appeared in the latest episode of Karen Davila’s vlog where she talked about her health. In an interview, she said she wasn’t aware that it was cancer until after she underwent surgery.
“Yung doktor ko sinabi na ito ang situation ko na parang ayaw pa nilang sabihin ‘yung cancer sa akin. It was malignant at ang laki na niya. Kung hindi ko po siya naagapan, posible talagang kumalat,” the actress revealed.
According to her, she had oral radiation after the surgery.
The actress then shared that she’s “cancer-free” but she’s taking maintenance medicines. She also said that she has to have a blood test every 2 months in order to check if the dosage of her maintenance medicines can be adjusted.
Miles was also asked of what she learned from her thyroid scare. According to her, the lesson she learned is to trust God in the time of uncertainty.
In the same interview, Miles revealed that she and actor Elijah Canlas are on speaking terms again but they’re just as friends. The actress even considered him as her “true love”.

Miles Ocampo was last seen in Kapamilya shows “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” and “The Iron Heart.”
It was last December 2023 when the actress won Best Supporting Actress at the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal for her performance in “Family of Two”.
She then posted a series of photos on her social media account after receiving the award, saying that being an actress is a “love-hate cycle” but it’s what she wants to do.
