Gloc-9 opened up about his hit single “Sirena”
GLOC-9 – The OPM rapper recently revealed that his hit single “Sirena” was inspired by his next-door-neighbor.
The rapper appeared in the latest episode of “Toni Talks” where he opened up about his 2012 hit song “Sirena” and recalled how his song came to be.
In an interview with Toni Gonzaga, Gloc-9 said that he wrote “Sirena” and the song was inspired by his next-door-neighbor Bridgette, who is a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
He described Bridgette as a gay who wears mini-skirt and high heels. According to the rapper, Bridgette would always work hard in the parlor because he’s the sole breadwinner for his family.
“If you look past the damit, the make-up, the kantsaw, totoo ’yong nasulat kong line na ‘Minsan mas lalake pa sa lalake ang bakla’.” Gloc-9 shared in an interview with Toni Gonzaga.
However, he admitted that he was scared to release his song “Sirena” out of fear that he might offend someone.
But it was King of Talk Boy Abunda, who appeared in the music video of “Sirena” alongside other LGBTQ+ public figures, that made him reassured that he made a song he could be proud of.
The rapper then thanked Tito Boy and the rest of the LGBTQ+ public figures who appeared in the “Sirena” music video for embracing his self-written song.

Gloc-9 was also asked in the same interview about one event that made an impact in his life. In response, he shared that it was where his listeners got to meet him and be touched and inspired by his music.
The rapper then looked back to the time when a bouncer came up to him after a TV guesting and expressed his gratitude for writing “Sirena” that made him understand his gay son more.
