Francis Leo Marcos Released from Prison After Almost 4 Years

FLM or Francis Leo Marcos has been released

FRANCIS LEO MARCOS – The internet personality and self-proclaimed philanthropist recently announced his release after spending nearly four years in prison.

Francis Leo Marcos, also known as FLM, is a businessman, philanthropist, and internet personality. He claims to have familial ties with the Marcos political family, which includes former President Ferdinand Marcos. However, these claims have been refuted by former First Lady Imelda Marcos, who stated that Francis Leo Marcos is not connected to her family. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) also asserted that his real name is Norman Mangusin.

Francis Leo Marcos started his philanthropic activities in 2007, notably running the Optimum Eye Care Program, an initiative aimed at providing eyeglasses to those who cannot afford them. He gained widespread attention when he initiated the “Mayaman Challenge” on Facebook, urging wealthy individuals to contribute to those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, legal issues emerged, leading to his arrest in 2020 for alleged violations of the Revised Optometry Law of 1995 and child trafficking charges dating back to 2006.

In addition to his philanthropic and legal endeavors, Francis Leo Marcos entered the political arena, attempting to run for Senator in the 2013 elections, although his candidacy was rejected due to age requirements. He made another attempt in the 2022 elections, facing controversies and petitions, but ultimately did not secure a Senate seat.

He shared that he had forgiven those responsible for his incarceration, stating that there is no bitterness in his heart as God has purified it. When asked about seeking revenge, he responded that he had chosen not to retaliate.

Following his release, Francis re-engaged with his fans through Facebook Live, promising to distribute sacks of rice to his followers once again.
