STAR MAGIC – The talent management arm of ABS-CBN vehemently denies rumors that their A-list talent, Daniel Padilla, is leaving their management.
Speculations about Daniel not renewing his contract with ABS-CBN and Star Magic have been circulating on social media for several weeks. The rumors also suggest that he is looking for a new talent management agency following his separation from long-time girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo.
Star Magic clarified on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, that these rumors are baseless. In fact, Daniel is set to renew his contract with ABS-CBN and Star Magic next month. His upcoming projects for this year under their management are also confirmed to push through.
On April 27, 2023, Daniel announced his return to the big screen with a “New Movie Alert.” One of the projects on his list is the psychological suspense-thriller “The Guest,” where he will be working alongside award-winning actor John Arcilla.
Apart from “The Guest,” Daniel revealed two more projects, including the “buddy comedy” film “Nang Mapagod Si Kamatayan.” The movie is based on one of the short stories from the book of National Artist for Film and Broadcast Ricky Lee titled “Kung Alam Niyo Lang Ang Gagamitin sa Pelikula.” This project fulfills Daniel’s long-time wish to work with his friend, actor Zanjoe Marudo.
The third film lined up for Daniel is a collaboration with his ex-girlfriend, Kathryn. There is no update yet on whether they will proceed with this project following their controversial breakup.
Meanwhile, discussions continue about Kathryn’s rumored move to Crown Artist Management, a talent management agency managed by former Kapamilya actress Maja Salvador and her husband, Rambo Nuñez. Despite the denial from Kathryn’s mother, Min Bernardo, on December 12, speculations about her potential transfer persist.
