Christopher de Leon: “Papaano kakausapin the Star for All Seasons, a big, big star? Paano mo ii-instruct si Vilma Santos on what to do and what not to do?”
VILMA SANTOS – Actor Christopher de Leon said that the Star for All Season has a special request to him for their MMFF movie.
Christopher and Vilma are among the stars in the upcoming film titled “When I Met You in Tokyo” alongside Cassy Legaspi, Darren Espanto, Gina Alajar, Lotlot de Leon, Gabby Eigenmann, Kakai Bautista, and more. The said movie is one of the official film entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.
Their reunion is special because Christopher had the opportunity to direct Vilma in their film apart from being an actor.
Christopher said that Vilma, film director Rado Peru, and executive producer Redgie Magno convinced him to become an associate director for their movie.
“Papaano kakausapin the Star for All Seasons, a big, big star? Paano mo ii-instruct si Vilma Santos on what to do and what not to do? Kaya ako pumasok sa picture as an associate director!” he said.
He also said that it’s a relief that they were so relaxed with each other and Vilma has always telling him, “Yet, ikaw ang mag-associate director,” and so he was like given the task of taking good care of her.
According to him, he enjoyed it so much and he released his artistic juices when he’s with her. He also said that everything came out here and he’s very proud of the movie, adding that he and Director Rado Peru almost developed the material.
Christopher shared that this wasn’t the first time that he directed the project as he already did two films and three television series. He added that his interest in being a director seems to have been revived because of “When I Met You in Tokyo”.
The actor said that he plans to go back and get serious about his director’s dreams of telling stories. On the other hand, the actress was happy with the result of her work with him.
