Recently, Ogie shared on his online show, Showbiz Update, that a source told him Daniel Padilla and Andrea Brillantes are secretly seeing each other. However, he expressed doubts, considering the actor’s reputation for being conservative.
Due to his remarks, he faced heavy criticism on social media, particularly from the fans of KathNiel, who vehemently defended the on-screen partners and real-life lovers at all costs. In fact, “OGIE DIAZ FAKENEWS PEDDLER” trended on X, formerly known as Twitter, with over 24K posts as of press time.
Amid the bashing and hate comments Ogie Diaz received, he addressed the situation on X after being labeled as a “fake news peddler.” In a post, he noted: “May naibalita lang kami na sinabi naman namin na di pa confirmed at sana di totoo, fake news peddler na raw kami. So pag tama ba kami, sasabitan nyo kami ng medalya?”
His statement received mixed reactions from netizens. One expressed hope that both parties would file a complaint against him: “Hala ang lagay ay ikaw pa ang victim??? Sana makasuhan ka ng both sides. Sana karmahin ka kahit sa susunod mong buhay!” wrote a netizen. As of press time, Daniel Padilla has yet to clarify his connection to Andrea Brillantes. Earlier, in his IG Stories, the actor posted a snapshot of the 2023 movie, “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck.” It appears to be his reaction to the issue involving his name, particularly his linking with Andrea.
