A camera worth P200K was stolen by a Lalamove rider
FAKE RIDER? – A camera valued at P200,000 was allegedly stolen by a Lalamove rider, as reported by a netizen on social media.
An X user with the handle name @CyJoBo shared that on November 18, he entrusted his camera to a Lalamove rider. He instructed the rider that if the receiver didn’t respond, he should return the parcel, and the payment would be doubled. However, after about 20 minutes, there was a sudden status update claiming that the item had been delivered, even though the delivery address was still far away.
“Medjo na-off na ako kasi kaka-akyat ko lang ulit sa unit ko and in 20 minutes okay na yung delivery kahit na yung delivery address is sa Novaliches, QC pa,” said the netizen. The rider allegedly explained that he had to deliver to another location first, which is why the camera’s status was marked as delivered.
“I gave him the benefit of the doubt since ganon naman talagang ibang riders. Double booking. Pero mas lumakas na yung kutob ko nang i-block na ng rider yung receiver,” @CyJoBo added. That’s when he started having difficulty contacting the rider. When he finally responded, he sent a drop-off photo, but when the netizen asked the receiver, it turned out that the photo wasn’t of their house.
“I sent her a screenshot and nanlamig na ako when she said di nila yon bahay. So I called the rider ulit and I said na ibalik na lang yung parcel and panay sabi siya na kesyo nasa highway pa raw, nasa Commonwealth, and nasa Fairview,” said the rider.
The netizen complained to Lalamove, but found it challenging due to the reportedly slow customer service. Lalamove offered to reimburse only P2,000, even though his camera was worth P200,000. The netizen identified the rider as ‘Rizalino Garcia.’ In an update posted on X, the rider allegedly contacted him, claiming that his Lalamove account had been stolen.
