BOY ABUNDA – The Asia’s King of Talk revealed that he was invited to be a judge at the recently concluded Miss Universe 2023.
In the latest episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, November 21, the “Asia’s King of Talk” shared details about this matter. “Lumabas po sa PEP ang balita last week, I think, na I was invited, I was considered to judge in the recently concluded Miss Universe pageant sa El Salvador. Totoo po ‘yan. I confirmed that,” Abunda narrated.
“Ako ay naimbitahan, but I was also disqualified from judging this year’s Miss Universe dahil I did an interview with one of the candidates, si Michelle Dee. Na sa kanilang mga rules ay bawal,” he added.
However, Abunda expressed that he is still happy despite the turn of events because the interview with the Philippines’ representative was “worth it.” The interview happened a few days before the competition. Regardless of the outcome, he assured that he would give his vote to Michelle.
“I can imagine how difficult it is to judge, but we’re still very happy, Michelle got to the Top 10,” Abunda stated. In conclusion, he expressed his hope to have another opportunity to interview Michelle when she returns to the Philippines.
Meanwhile, it was just recently that the 72nd Miss Universe pageant was held at the Gimnasio Nacional José Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador. At the end of the event, Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua was crowned as Miss Universe 2023. This marked a historic win for Nicaragua, as it was the country’s first victory in the pageant’s history and its debut success in any of the Big Four international beauty pageants.
A total of eighty-four contestants from various countries and territories participated in this year’s pageant. Jeannie Mai and Olivia Culpo, Miss Universe 2012, co-hosted the competition for the second consecutive time, joined by Maria Menounos. Serving as backstage correspondents for the second year in a row were Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and Zuri Hall. The event also featured a performance by John Legend.
