Mikee Quintos and Paul Salas, along with 7 other victims, filed a complaint against a cryptocurrency group.

MIKEE QUINTOS AND PAUL SALAS – The celebrity couple and 7 other victims filed a complaint against a cryptocurrency group before the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office.

On Monday, the celebrity couple and 7 other victims filed an estafa complaint against five individuals for alleged violation of Presidential Decree No. 1689 in relation to Articles 315 and 316 of the Revised Penal Code.

The individuals were identified as John David del Castillo Ortiz, Margarita Ortiz-Tan, Ralph Francisco Torres, Delfin Hernandez Villaruel Jr., and Julian Vincent Ortanez Parado of Cronus Holdings Corporation, according to GMA Integrated News Reporter Jonathan Andal.

Mikee said in an interview that the alleged modus of those individuals is that they will make their victim believe that the transactions with them are okay until a victim gives a sufficient amount and they ran off with it. According to her, those individuals took “more or less P8 million” from them.

I think that’s their modus din na aalagaan ka muna nila, papaniwalain ka nila na okay ‘yung transactions with them until when you give a sufficient amount na or big amount na — more or less P8 million ‘yung nakuha nila sa amin, eh — tinakbo na nila,” Mikee said.

Atty. Lance Tan, the lawyer of the celebrity couple, said in an interview that the respondents are in their early 20s. He also said that their camp is open to reaching a settlement with the respondents but they would also write to the schools or universities of the respondents to inform them of what happened.

Mikee shared that they were offered two deals by the crypto group – the “monthly compounding” interest of 5% of the investment and the “two-week holding time” for short-term investment.

The celebrity couple were also asked if they wanted to tell the respondents anything. According to Paul, he asked those individuals to do what was right and also warned others against trusting too easily.
