Benj Pangilinan: “I started to write and write, and write and write and I was like ‘you know baka may purpose dito, di ba?'”
BENJ PANGILINAN – The brother of actor Donny Pangilinan pursues his career in the music industry as he’s now a singer-songwriter.
On Monday, Benj Pangilinan and his parents Maricel Laxa and Anthony Pangilinan appeared on the latest episode of Kapamilya morning show “Magandang Buhay”. Benj shared how he started writing music in an interview.
According to the singer-songwriter, it was his parents that pushed him to write music and people around him told him to release what he wrote.
Benj also said that he never did it for anyone else and it was like his “own personal form of expression and therapy”.
“I never did it for anyone else, it was parang my own personal form of like expression and therapy,” Benj said in an interview. “Then eventually I started to write and write, and write and write and I was like ‘you know baka may purpose dito, di ba?’”
The brother of actor Donny Pangilinan also admitted that show business and being in front of the camera are something he’s trying to get used to because it’s not his comfort zone.
In the same interview, Benj shared that he’s receiving tips from his brother. According to him, the biggest form of advice was to keep the feet on the ground as there’s so many other things that come with it.
The singer-songwriter performed his track “Love, That’s Rare” in the Kapamilya morning show. His song is already available on various music streaming platforms.

Meanwhile, Donny said in an interview with told reporters during the recent media gathering to introduce the cast and directors of the romantic drama series that he walked the streets of Divisoria and Binondo incognito as part of his preparation for his character.
“I also immersed myself in my character’s environment. Our worlds are so different. Direk Mae and the team went with me to Binondo and Divisoria. We walked around incognito,” he said. “Bingo engages in so many rackets in order to survive. I wanted to make sure I know what Bingo is going through in life.”
