George Royeca, the president and CEO of a ride-hailing and delivery app, directly asked the TV host-comedian how rich he has become after years of working. Vice appeared on the first episode of the vlog series “PasaHero” and answered some intriguing questions about his personal life and showbiz career.
One of the questions was about his wealth. The comedian said that he could no longer measure how rich he is now. “Depende siguro kung saan mo sinusukat ‘yong kayamanan na tinutukoy. Hindi ko alam, pero hindi ko na masukat ang yaman ko ngayon,” the veteran comedian shared.
He continued,”Sama-sama na ‘yung tinutukoy na yaman ko, ha. Yaman ng pananalapi, yaman ng kaligayahan sa puso, yaman ng mga naabot na rin na mga pangarap. Yaman ng mga taong nakapaligid sa akin. So kung susumahin ko, kapag pinagsama-sama ko ‘yun, hindi ko na alam kung gaano siya kalaki, pero alam kong mayaman na ako.”
Vice also shared that he had a unique way of saving money, especially when he was just starting as a singer in the comedy bar where he worked. According to Ion Perez’s partner, he didn’t take his talent fee; instead, he used the tips he received from customers for his daily expenses.
Then came the day when he lost his voice and couldn’t sing for several months. That’s when he decided to become a stand-up comedian. Following this decision, he succeeded in that field and was recognized as the “Queen of Comedy Bars.” After a few more years, he entered the world of showbiz and achieved success once again. Vice Ganda admitted that he never imagined he would become so famous because all he wanted back then was to earn a good living for himself and his family.
