Super Tekla reveals avoiding paying a taxi driver “not once”
SUPER TEKLA – The comedian-television host whose real name is Romeo Librada has confessed to trying to avoid paying a taxi driver.
In the September 17 episode of “The Boobay and Tekla Show,” the former Wowowin host acknowledged the truth of such rumors. Nonetheless, Tekla provided a reasonable explanation for his decision not to pay the taxi driver. He noticed that the taxi’s meter appeared to be tampered with, resulting in an overcharge. He mentioned that he typically paid only P200 for a trip from Paranaque to Quezon City, but on that particular occasion, the fare had already reached P600.
“Kaya ang ginawa ko, a, dinadayaan mo ako, ha. Dadayaan din kita,” Tekla said. Subsequently, Tekla opted to avoid paying the driver by pretending to collect money from inside a comedy bar. “Pagdating ko sa bar, bumaba ako sabi ko ‘kukuha lang ako ng pamasahe ha’ pagpasok ko ng bar may labasan doon sa likod doon ako lumabas kasi tatakasan ko siya,” Tekla said.
Apparently, the taxi driver caught him and reported Super Tekla to his colleagues. Tekla even confessed to engaging in similar actions on multiple occasions. It can be recalled that in 2021, he shared an unforgettable experience when Super Tekla was once mistaken for a shoplifter in a convenience store.
Meanwhile, Super Tekla, whose real name is Romeo Librada, began his career as a singer and stand-up comedian. In 2016, he joined Wowowin, hosted by Willie Revillame, and Kuya Wil saw potential in him, hiring him as one of his co-hosts.
However, a year later, he was fired by Kuya Wil due to his alleged issues with alcohol and gambling, which he denied. In 2020, he was welcomed back to Wowowin after making a guest appearance. He currently hosts the comedy talk show “The Boobay and Tekla Show” alongside comedian Boobay.
