Kim Chiu On MTRCB Denying Motion For Consideration Of ‘It’s Showtime’

Kim Chiu: “Lahat naman ng problema, nakakaya namin — lalo na ang ‘It’s Showtime’.”

KIM CHIU – Here’s what the actress said in reaction to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) denying the motion for reconsideration of Kapamilya noontime show “It’s Showtime.”

The actress addressed MTRCB’s ruling during the Life Strong Hairfix Professional event in SM The Block last September 28, 2023 when she was asked to give her two-cents on the current state of “It’s Showtime”.

The actress said that they have prevailed over all of their problems, especially “It’s Showtime”.

She added that “It’s Showtime” has been around for 13 years and no problem would remain that way, especially as they have been tested by time. According to her, all of them are tested by time and they have learned from it.

Kim then expressed her gratitude to the fans of “It’s Showtime” for their support throughout its whole ordeal with the MTRCB, saying that they’re just very grateful that many people support the Kapamilya noontime show as that’s what’s most important.

Lahat naman ng problema, nakakaya namin — lalo na ang ‘It’s Showtime.’ Thirteen years na siyang noontime show at wala namang problema ang hindi nakakayanan dahil na-test of time [kami]. Lahat naman tayo, na-test tayo ng time at may natututunan tayo,” she said. “We’re just very grateful na ang daming sumusuporta sa ‘It’s Showtime’ at ‘yun po ang mahalaga.

On Thursday, the MTRCB has denied the motion for reconsideration filed by ABS-CBN Corporation and GMA Network, days after “It’s Showtime” was slapped with a 12-day suspension.

The government agency said that the behavior of “It’s Showtime” hosts Vice Ganda, Ion Perez, and Ryan Bang on air during the show’s “Isip Bata” segment was deemed “indecent” and “inappropriate” in the presence of children.

Hours after MTRCB denied the Kapamilya noontime show’s appeal, ABS-CBN confirmed that it is “currently exploring all [their] remedies and options” as the regulatory board’s “imposed suspension is not yet final and executory”.
