Passenger left by a modern jeepney despite paying her fare
BACOLOD – A passenger complains about being left by a modern jeepney despite paying her fare. It happened around 3:40 PM while she was on her way to her destination.
She asked if she could borrow 15 pesos from the conductor, as she didn’t have change and needed to pay the fare for the tricycle ride. She gave the conductor a 100 peso bill, and while she was paying the tricycle fare, she saw that the conductor she lent money to suddenly got into the vehicle with her money. She was shocked because that was all the money she had.
She asked for help from another jeepney, and she told them about her situation. She pleaded to get her money back from the conductor. At that time, her body was shaking with anger. Eventually, they caught up with the car they were chasing.
When she came across the conductor who took her money, the latter only said: “SORRY ABI KO NAKA SAKAY KANA (Sorry, I thought you had already boarded the car).” She exclaimed that the conductor had seen her paying her tricycle fare.
The female passenger shared that being a student, she knows the struggle of managing money to pay for fares. She asked what if this happens to someone else who doesn’t have the courage to confront the passenger and has no more fare money left.
According to the complainant, she posted this not to tarnish the reputation of the jeepney company but to remind the conductors to be more responsible. She stressed that not all conductors are like this, as there are many good ones.
