This program lets you — who meet the eligibility criteria and also make qualifying contributions — earn real money from Reddit. With this, you can earn more depending on the karma earned in a 12-month period and gold you have received on your comments and posts.
If you’re an eligible Redditor and meet the minimum gold and karma thresholds, you will need to go through a one-time flow powered by Stripe and Persona in order to provide some banking and personal information to get cash payouts.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
In order for you to become eligible to participate in this program, you must reside in the United States. Countries outside the United States are not qualified for this program as of this writing, but Reddit said that this program will be expanded to more regions soon.
Also, you must be at least 18 years old, have a Reddit account that’s in good standing with the platform, accept and comply with Reddit Contributor Program Terms and Contributor Monetization Policy, and successfully complete the verification process for onboarding.
Aside from this, you must also make qualifying contributions on the platform within the last year, defined as receiving at least 100 karma over 12 months and earning 10 gold.
How to check if you’re qualified for this program?
You can see the clickable “Get Verified to Start Earning” button on the Contributor Program marketing page if your contributions qualify you for this program.
- If you’re using a mobile version of the platform, you need to tap your avatar in the top right corner in order to open the side-drawer and then tap “Contributor Program” with a wallet icon next to it.
- If you’re using a web version of the platform, you need to click on your username in the top right corner for the drop down to appear and open the “Contributor Program” tab with a wallet icon next to it.
